North Carolina’s largest native brewer is announcing the release of Lower Falls IPA – a session IPA brewed with Centennial, Amarillo, and Mosaic hops. It is the latest addition to the brewery’s year-round lineup and will be distributed in 6-packs across Highland’s Southeastern distribution footprint starting in March.
The name of the brew was inspired by the waterfalls and outdoor adventures that surround the brewery’s home base in western North Carolina.
Leah Wong Ashburn, Highland’s President, said, “I love how Lower Falls fits into my active lifestyle. It’s a flavorful and refreshing lower ABV beer that pairs beautifully with the activities we have at the brewery like volleyball, trails, and disc golf.”
At 3.9% ABV and 25 IBUs, Lower Falls IPA is a sessionable IPA with a bright and fruity hop flavor.
Shane Cummings, Highland’s Head Brewer said, “We kept the malt simple to allow the citrus and tropical notes of Mosaic, Centennial, and Amarillo hops to shine through.”
He continued, “We employ a hopping technique called hop bursting to impart deep flavors of peach, mango, grapefruit, and floral notes.”
Lower Falls IPA will be available at the brewery and at retail stores throughout the Southeast beginning in March.
