Hair of The Dog IPA for Asheville Humane Society

ASHEVILLE, NC (August 8, 2022) — Asheville’s original craft brewery will release Hair of The Dog IPA on Saturday, August 27. This brewery-only release was created in collaboration with the Asheville Humane Society. The brew features an original crowler label illustration by local designer, Jenny Fares of Sound Mind Creative. The design is inspired by the Humane Society’s work ensuring that each animal has the quality of life they deserve – a life worth living.

“Highland Brewing Company continues to be a vital partner in the long-term success of Asheville Humane Society, and we are looking forward to our Pints with Purpose beer release on August 27,” said Daniel Gruhn, Corporate Partnership Manager for the Humane Society.

He continued, “We chose the name Hair of The Dog to reflect the idea that drinking it will make you feel better, as well as highlighting one of the many amazing attributes of our furry friends, especially those looking for a new loving home!”

This release will run from 12-5 PM and feature a pet-related vendors market, a dog show contest with three categories (Best Smile, Best Costume, Most Mysterious Heritage), and long-dog races. Asheville Yoga Center will be holding a donation-based class from 10:30-11:30 AM. Paws Mobile will be onsite doing nail trims and microchipping. The Humane Society will also be on hand to share adoption and donation information and The New Lefties will take the Meadow stage from 2-5 PM.

Hair of The Dog IPA is the fifth and final release in Highland’s Pints with Purpose series of beers supporting area non-profits. This beer is a clean, citrus-y West-coast style IPA.

A portion of the proceeds from all draft and crowler sales at both Highland taprooms will benefit the non-profits. These beers are taproom exclusives and have been released sequentially.  Additional donation opportunities will be available at the release events and throughout the five months of the campaign.
