Lunar New Year Taproom Celebration

Welcome the Year of the Wooden Dragon at Highland Brewing’s annual Lunar New Year Celebration on February 10, 2023. Step into a world of cultural richness and a fusion of flavors at this free event in the Taproom.

Culinary Extravaganza: Savor the unique flavors crafted to symbolize prosperity, good fortune, and the spirit of Lunar New Year. Indulge your taste buds with an array of delectable treats from some of the Asheville’s finest vendors:

• ​Bun Intended: Thai-inspired street food featuring dishes from the Isaan region of Thailand (2-10pm)
• ​El Kimchi: Experience the bold and flavorful tastes of Korean fusion with mouth-watering Korean BBQ Tacos and more (12-8pm)
• ​Pop Bubble Tea (& Waffles): Sip on unique bubble teas and indulge in delightful waffle creations (12-4pm)
• ​Nibbly Onigiri: Enjoy the Japanese artistry of rice balls with a variety of delicious fillings (12-4pm)

Cultural Experiences:

• Ceremonial Red Envelopes, which contain money and symbolize good wishes and luck for the new year, will be passed out to the first 88 guests at the brewery.
• Experience the vibrant and traditional Lion Dance performance by ​Dragon Phoenix Lion Dancers. Watch as the performers bring good luck and positive energy to the festivities, creating an unforgettable, celebratory atmosphere. (3-4pm)

Beer Collaboration: Highland Brewing Company is excited to present our 5th specialty beer collaboration, the Wooden Dragon(fruit) Wheat, with ​Lucky Envelope Brewing, located in Seattle, WA.

Live Music:  Pleasure Chest takes the stage from 6-9pm.
