Asheville 8 String Collective Live at Highland Brewing Downtown

Dan Clare (8 string guitar) and Damon Miklowcic (percussion) are the core duo of the ASHEVILLE 8 STRING COLLECTIVE, a group that has been performing in Asheville at breweries, music venues, and festivals in various formats since 2016. Heralding from the Charlie Hunter school of contrapuntal fingerstyle guitar, Dan strives to hold down bass and guitar duties simultaneously while also providing vocal arrangements of various songs from Asheville brewery favorites like The Grateful Dead. Damon’s years of experience gigging with jazz, funk, rock, and soul groups in Boston and North Carolina provide the percussive foundation of the group. Over the course of a typical set, in addition to some of their own original compositions, the guys might call tunes from the Dead, JGB, Ellington, Coltrane, Davis, Rollins, Scofield, Dylan, Sade, S. Wonder, Nirvana, or D’Angelo.
