ASHEVILLE, NC (April 18, 2022) — Asheville’s original craft brewery will release Mountain Chaser Hazy Pale Ale for SAHC on Sunday, April 24. This brewery-only release was created in collaboration with Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy (SAHC). The brew features an original crowler label illustration by local designer, Jenny Fares of Sound Mind Creative. The design is inspired by SAHC’s work to protect the unique habitats of the Southern Appalachian Highlands.
This release will also mark the re-opening of the Meadow and kick off the summer Meadow Markets with 14 local artisans and vendors. Other activities include a scavenger hunt on Highland’s trails curated by SAHC, guided walks with Highland’s natural resources team, and live music by MoonFwuit.
“SAHC is proud to be a partner with HBC and is excited to participate in the festivities by offering a self-guided scavenger hunt on the Highland Trails. We hope folks will have fun and learn interesting facts about the forest” said Kristy Urquhart, Associate Director of SAHC.
Mountain Chaser Hazy Pale Ale for SAHC is the first in Highland’s Pints with Purpose series of beers supporting area non-profits. Over the next five months, Highland will release one beer per month with a party highlighting the work of one of the collaborating community partners. The next release will be Black Bear Kolsch supporting the WNC Nature Center on May 22.
A portion of the proceeds from all draft and crowler sales at both Highland taprooms will benefit the non-profits. These beers are taproom exclusives and will be released sequentially. Each beer is expected to run out before the next one becomes available. Additional donation opportunities will be available at the release events and online throughout the five months of the campaign. To learn more, visit highlandbrewing.com/community
