Oscar’s Pizza is named in honor of Oscar Wong — Founder of Highland Brewing, Asheville community legend, and lover of good food and good fun. Born in Jamaica to Chinese parents and a graduate of Notre Dame, Oscar carried his very first pizza sideways under his arm… and learned the hard way that pizza isn’t meant to be transported like a textbook.
We celebrate that spirit of joyful discovery with every pie we make. Our thin, charred, New Haven-ish pizzas are crafted with quality ingredients and served steps away from the Highland Taproom—another reason to hang out at Highland, family owned and Asheville’s Original Craft Brewery.

When will Oscar's Pizza be open?
Oscar’s Pizza will soft open with a special event menu during the 30th Anniversary Cold Mountain weekend, Nov. 13–15, before officially opening with a more robust menu the week of Thanksgiving.
Highland will celebrate Oscar’s Pizza with a grand opening event in December.
How do I order food?
Order your food at the Taproom bar, grab a pint and claim your favorite table anywhere on the property. We’ll send you a text when your order is ready and you can pick it up in Oscar’s Pizza. Additions and cutlery available in Oscar’s Pizza. Enjoy!
Will you still have food trucks?
Oscar’s Pizza will be serving up pies on the weekend and select weekdays. On days Oscar’s is NOT open, you’ll find a rotating lineup of local food trucks on site. How big are the pizzas?
Bring a friend or grab a to-go box. Our 15″ pizzas are designed to feed two people.
What style is the pizza?
When Oscar’s opens officially (Thanksgiving week), we will serve New Haven-inspired pies. Think crispy edges, a chewy crust, vibrant sauce, and plenty of blistered char from the oven. Each pizza is finished with the cheese(s) that best suit the recipe.
Our special event menu will include a few options of pizza by-the-slice, as well as a salad and a dessert.
What else is on the menu?
Beyond pizza, we’ll be serving salads, shareable favorites like meatballs and soft pretzels, and a sweet treat or two. We’ll be adding new items over time, so stay tuned!
