Field Sales Representative – Tennessee/Kentucky

Highland Brewing Company in Asheville, NC seeks to add a self-motivated Field Sales Representative to grow our sales and brand presence in Tennessee and Kentucky. Highland wants, needs, and must have entrepreneurs who can operate within a team! A high emphasis will be placed on increasing the availability and visibility of Highland products in new and existing accounts, building relationships and utilizing a consultative selling approach.

Candidates would ideally live in the Nashville area, while spending 10% of time in Kentucky, 10% Clarksville, 40% Chattanooga, and 40% in Nashville on average.

This is a full-time position with benefits, including health insurance and retirement plan options which begin after a successful 90-day introductory period.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:  Field Sales Representative for Tennessee/Kentucky

FLSA Status:  Exempt 

Reports to:  Regional Sales Manager

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for growing volume and profitability in assigned geography and maintaining relationships with retailers and distributor personnel 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Develops and maintains relationships with key retailers in assigned areas

* Develops and maintains relationships with distributor management and personnel

* Grows volume and profitability in assigned geography

* Creates and manages business plans for each assigned distributor which include volume and distribution goals

* Provides a direct line of communication to the brewery

* Provides detailed written communication following market visits

* Executes beer tastings, special events, and festivals

* Educates wait staff and customers about Highland products

* Coordinates beer donations and requests for merchandise for 501(c)(3) organizations within assigned geography

* Manages the sale and inventory of Highland-branded merchandise at special events and festivals

* Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or other related field preferred

Experience:

* 1-3 years’ commission sales experience

Experience selling adult beverages in a retail or wholesale environment, preferred

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

* Proficiency in social media tools

* Working knowledge of the craft brewing industry

* Working knowledge of major beer styles, including origins and flavor profiles

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks

 

Working Conditions:

* Ability to stand for long periods of time and do physically demanding work is required.

* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required.

* Willingness to work events on evenings and weekends is required.

* Willingness to travel overnight is required.
