HR Administrative Assistant

This position is responsible for assisting is the HR Director with general human resources tasks and providing administrative assistance to the Highland Management Team.

FLSA Status: Part-time Hourly
Reports to: Human Resources Director
Location: Asheville, NC

Essential Job Functions

  • Assists with New Hire Orientation scheduling
  • Tracks employee benefits eligibility and provides forms and information to employees and vendors
  • Tracks and administers anniversary/tenure Benefits
  • Maintains I-9 file and submits E-Verify cases
  • Schedules and facilitates annual hearing tests
  • Filtering/handling employee admin requests- name/address changes, gym memberships, payroll deductions, manager questions on hire dates/compensation
  • Orders/manages general office supplies
  • Orders/manages breakroom and coffee supplies
  • Mail sorting and runs as needed
  • Manages general info@ email and distributes information to appropriate department
  • Submits IT Access and Termination requests to IT service provider
  • Inventories and orders office supplies
  • Takes minutes at weekly staff meetings
  • Provides admin support for the Highland Management Team, as needed
  • Answers and directs incoming phone calls
  • Miscellaneous data entry projects
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned

Qualifications

Education:

  • High-school diploma
  • Associates degree in business administration or related field preferred

Experience:

  • Two years administrative experience
  • Experience with time and attendance systems/payroll preferred
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time is required.
  • Willingness to occasionally work events on evenings and weekends is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs is required.
