Worm Trip is an instrumental post-metal group regurgitated from the bowels of the ancient Shai-Hulud and thrust into the Asheville microcosm in 2025. Featuring Zak Nienstedt (guitar 1), Alex Illuzi (drums), Derek Patton (bass), and Peter Landis (guitar 2), Worm Trip revels in a realm of hefty riffage punctuated by dissociative fugue. For fans of Pelican, Russian Circles, & Dysrhythmia.
Two Planes is an instrumental, two-piece, guitar-drums experimental rock outfit based in Asheville, NC. Sam Hunt (guitar, drum machine, keyboard) and Ian Galdy (drums, bass, voice) both grew up in the Chapel Hill/Durham area of North Carolina. Influences include Spacemen 3, Galaxie 500, Yo La Tengo, Built to Spill, and Mogwai.
Weekend Live Music
Highland Brewing’s weekend live music series showcases incredible local talent, regional acts and national touring bands from across the East Coast and beyond. Free and open to all ages (unless noted otherwise), it’s the perfect excuse to gather your crew, listen and vibe to a wide range of genres including soul, bluegrass, acoustic, country, folk and more.
Live music typically takes place on our scenic Meadow stage. Shows are rain or shine, if the weather doesn’t cooperate and we have time to move inside, the band will play in the Taproom where there’s still plenty of room to boogie.
Chairs, blankets and well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome in the Meadow. Please note that coolers and outside alcohol are not permitted on the premises.
