Seth Kauffman creates Floating Action albums; writes, produces, engineers, plays all the instruments. Purposefully dodgesworldly success in pursuit of musical purity- has released 8 albums since 2005. Currently works in the studio and tours with ‘dudes who get it’ like Jim James, & Dan Auerbach.
A consummate musician’s musician, Daniel Coolik, originally from Atlanta, Georgia, swept into the Lafayette scene in 2009 and quickly added his name to many respectable rosters, loaning his talents to such groups as Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole, The Red Stick Ramblers, Les Malfecteurs, and The Yvette Landry Band. Daniel was already an adept multi-instrumentalist in the Asheville, North Carolina scene where he focused on jazz mandolin as well as old time Appalachian traditional music, and has since emerged as a violoniste extraordinaire here in Acadiana. His abilities have taken him all over the globe, including Haiti, Thailand, most countries in Western Europe, and Canada.
Multi-instrumentalist/composer Michael Libramento has been working as a musician in Asheville for several years. He is known for his dynamic and unique drumming style, due to his role in Mind Vs. Target; however, it would not be out of place to find him as a left-handed, upside-down electric guitarist or bassist in a rock club, in pop groups such as Stephanie’s Id or Jar-E…possibly at the Hammond organ or Wurlitzer electric piano at a studio session…or laying down some vocal harmonies over his minimalist soul productions. In addition to live performances in venues across the country, including festivals like Bonnaroo and South By Southwest, Michael is often helping record/produce his friends’ albums or teaching private music lessons.
The Well-crafted Music Series is a weekly curation of talent brought to Asheville by pedal steel guitarist Matt Smith. Unique and genre-less, the series celebrates fresh collaborations from seasoned musicians. The series features artists that Matt Smith has met and worked with during his 20+ year career touring and recording.
